Do you have concerns that your hair is thinning and not as thick as it once was?
If so, you are probably thinking “What is causing this?” and “What can I do to stop it?”
Nioxin began with one woman’s wish to make other people feel good about themselves. Founder Eva Graham , who grew up in North West Carolina, USA had an early interest in plants but began scalp research in earnest when much of her own hair fell out after giving birth.
She came to the conclusion that the scalp is just an extension to the face, and needs gentle ingredients to breathe and function correctly.
With just $500 and a dream, she set to work at home and over the years has built Nioxin into a worldwide leader in hair care.
Here are Nioxin’s causes of thinning hair and solutions to this problem so many of us suffer from. You can see the full story by visiting their website, and try their online consultation tool to find out who to help yourself to have thicker hair.
Nioxin’s research has shown thinning hair is often related to genetic factors, stress and trauma, other health reasons, medication side effects and poor diet and nutrition. In some cases there can also be environmental effects.
Some examples: A common family predisposition involves natural, age-related hormonal changes that can trigger hair loss. This is caused by the conversion of testosterone into the toxin Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) and can be inherited from either your mother or your father.
Stress can produce increased levels of testosterone, which converts to DHT and interrupts the hair’s growth cycle. Stress also constricts blood supply through the capillaries, restricting oxygen and nutrient uptake and vitamins to the hair follicle.
What you eat can plays a significant role in hair thinning. High consumption of animal fats, rapid weight loss and liquidprotein diets can result in a lack of amino acids, biotin, iron, proteinandzinc— all of which are essential for healthy-looking hair.
